Despite the unsavoury headlines the VW juggernaut continues apace, none more so than the Golf Mk 7.5. I therefore hypothesise that when you are trying to pull away, if the car thinks there is a danger of stalling, it will increase the revs itself (separate to your inputs to the accelerator) which is then resulting in jerkiness/kangarooing?

The 1.0 TSI covers the range from 66 kW (90 PS) to 85 kW (115 PS), while the 1.5 TSI generates 96 kW (130 PS) or 110 kW (150 PS).
And they charge quality prices. To be frank I hardly notice it.

The engine now idles from a cold start at 1250rpm whereas before the update it was 1000rpm, will see how the Karoq performs over a few more miles but I have a feeling the update I received has caused other lack of fuel / timing and other ECU related issues.

I have started the rejection of the vehicle but i waiting for them to investigate (they have up to 8 weeks as i rejected after the initial 30 days).
I have ordered a new car with this engine but having read the forums about the problem wish to cancel.
They have acknowledged the problem and they will give you a named Customer Services Manager who will help things with the dealer and avoid the "we haven't heard of this problem" nonsense you may otherwise have to deal with. Are Lamborghini engines made by Audi? They said there was "something" and that it needed a software update which would be available at the end of Q1. Salesman friend told me it does work !.I am booked in for 'software update' so it is not a recall or other definition of solving a problem but a software update ! Based on the ongoing reports of (lack of) progress towards a fix, and the dealer's attitude to my reports of the problem, I rejected the vehicle and got a full refund. Volkswagen Golf 1.5 TSI Evo on the road. Speeds things up. It looks like even the Audi Q3 may well be effected same engine one thinks.
But would like to know whether VW is good when it comes to petrol engine !!.
Evo cars will definitely be better than old cars.No one uses old cars IRL when EVO upgrade are out.

Unfortunately the update appears to have caused an issue that wasn't there before with regard to the stop-start system which is activated by default, engine can stall straight away at times or even kangaroo very briefly then stall, it doesn't seem to happen when SS is deactivated.
However, it now controls other electrical systems like cruise control and electronic stability control.

Bought a new Honda Civic 1.5 sport and collect it on Tuesday. The mid-life update to the Golf is pouring into dealerships as quickly as Wolfsburg can churn them out. The Skoda Service Centre did get the update from Skoda UK via email and it was applied, the corporate speak from SUK is that it would require the Karoq to be driven for some 600 miles to allow the ECU to learn and adapt to my type of driving / vehicle usage.
