The first time we booked was in San Antonio and the entrance to the resort was just some door down an alley you see in crime movie. Was promised things that never happened . When I sought help to rent my week, I was told that Wyndham did not provide that service. In one place in the contract, once we could read it, it says we have 5 days to cancel but in another place it says the laws of Florida rule and Florida law says you have 7 days. I believe that their sales staff is likely being paid out of the maintenance fees. The law suit was filed by 11 California timeshare residents who had a timeshare with RAINTREE CLUB (Hawaii) and were obligated to pay for the special assessment immediately between October and November of 2009. When we bought the timeshare, it was Shell Vacation; then Wyndham acquired Shell and its been a sh*tshow ever since; everything is more difficult; I keep trying to use it because the initial purchase was so expensive but what a pack of lies. Now we see that they are back on our credit report indicating that we still have an account with them and our payments are past due. After check in, you have to go to another desk to get your car tag and that is where they pressure you into the 1-hour presentation that lasts for hours. Won my trust scammed me by saying he could do all these amazing things to help if I upgraded I said I was retiring soon and $500 a month would be a stretch.. scammed me I now somehow bought all these points (why would I do that when I never used the ones I had?) They say that while they were on vacation in Panama City, Florida, a Wyndham representative offered them a gift card and encouraged them to attend a timeshare sales presentation. What they did was stole our paid off timeshare by attaching it to a whole new one. What a joke, over an hour on the phone, mostly on hold. The manager, who was dripping of gold necklaces and bracelets, yelled at us and stormed away. The sales rep were only supposed to get us a lower interest rate on our original timeshare which we were only able to utilize once ironically at the site of this current issue in Atlantic City. They threatened to sue me. The RCI settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Glenz v. They have been scamming my wife and I for years. Toilets were backed up and smelled like raw sewage. we have experience the high pressure sales, the lies, maintenance fee always increases and not being able to book vacation because resort have nothing available. I want to join in. For only having to be there for only a short time they kept at it and took us all day there. They kept us for HOURS (not 90 minutes). We were charmed by the scenery and small Italy like vibes. I highly recommend calling them and doing research on them. It was a presentation that again lasted all day and ended up in my signing my name on a piece of paper which I felt I had to do just to get out of there. The very nature of a timeshare contract is that it is a promissory note that contains several binding conditions regarding the purchase, maintenance, sale and exchange of timeshares. Now, the couple has filed in Delaware and assert that their claims are timely, per the terms of their contract with the company. I need to be added . The settlement was designed to lower credit values . Also, we can RARELY even get into a resort when we try to book. Even that seem a scam. I will be contacting an attorney to find out if I have any recourse against Worldmark / Wyndham. We originally bought with Fairfield back in the 90s with inheritance money and enjoyed our vacations. It is frustrating to be unable to book a trip using points due to unavailability and the see the same rooms listed on travel sites. They also lied about a buy back program that never existed . I have done at least 5 times the meeting at this offer and they always go over the 90 min plus they push so hard to buy the time share that I felt almost obligated to purchase. This whole thing has been so frutlrating when trying to make reservations when we want to use our properties in Hawaii, and nothing is available when we habe time to use oir timeshare there. There is also a potential loophole in such lawsuit claims where the timeshare owners may simply abandon their timeshare contract after a certain period of time without actually paying the money owed.
